Announcing Food For The Soul 2009 Metro Atlanta

It’s that time again for Food For The Soul!

UniverSoul Circus is very proud and appreciative of the selfless efforts of you, your students, faculty and staff by participating in the Food For The Soul program. Your humanitarian efforts are directly responsible for helping Hosea Feed The Hungry to feed thousands of families year round as were highlighted by the Executive Director, Elizabeth Omilami and her husband Afemo Omilami at the Hosea Feed The Hungry press conference last week at Turner Field.

Your participation in the 2008 Food for the Soul drive delivered over 50,000 food items to the Hosea Feed The Hungry food bank and now it is time to replenish the pantry.

The current economic decline and recent flood damage experienced by many families in the metropolitan Atlanta area has significantly increased the need for non-perishable food items everywhere. Once again, we ask you to support our annual food drive that helps families throughout the year with food request through Hosea Feed the Homeless and Hungry.

Please join us this year. We need you to encourage your students, faculty, staff and other school supporters to participate in the 2009 Food For The Soul drive as we aim for 100,000 food items. This is the Fifth year for Food For The Soul and as you know, the school that collect the most food items will win complimentary tickets to the special Food For The Soul UniverSoul Circus show in February at Turner Field. Additionally, our Food For The Soul School Spirit Award provides 200 tickets for the school that shows the most school spirit in the form of a 60 to 90 second video of you school’s students, faculty, staff, parents, and/or supporters providing humanitarian assistance to those in need and of course the food items collected.

Contact us to receive a copy of our "Letter to the Parents" for your review and we will begin to send Food For The Soul posters once you respond that you are participating this year. Included is the 11”x17” Food For The Soul color poster to give you a visual aide to support the food drive. The 2009 Food For The Soul drive will end November 24th and the winner will be announced on December 7th on our website at www.universoulcircus.com where you will be able to see photos and video links of the various schools and our young humanitarians showing what giving is all about. All food items will be collected based on metro area location between November 30th – December 4th.
