POSITION TITLE:                               Permits and Contracts Specialist    

 

POSITION TYPE:                               Corporate/Tour

 

TRAVEL REQUIRED:                       Must be willing to travel as needed, especially during training period.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:    N/A

 

REPORTS TO:                                   Operations Manager

 

 

 

I. POSITION OVERVIEW: Dependable, detail-oriented and business-focused person to assist with contract compliance and permit management.  This position is responsible for all preliminary interfacing with all local, county, and state officials concerning all permit requirements, in addition to writing, reviewing and negotiating contracts for indoor and outdoor venues. Specialist reviews files for completeness, confirms venue contracts and obtains all permits and/or licenses to allow the circus to perform in different venues across the country. 

 

 

II. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

COMMUNICATION & CONTRACT DEVELOPMENT: Preliminary interface with all local, county and state officials concerning all permit and contract requirements.

 

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT: Obtain and complete, process and maintain all permit and contract related forms, fee applications, and related documentation in accordance to established Standard Operating Procedures.

 

COMPLIANCE: Ensure compliance at all times by securing all necessary contracts and permit, or scheduling all required inspections in a time appropriate manner based on market

 

TRAVEL & TASK MANAGEMENT: Travel on-site, (especially during training period), complete administrative tasks and assist with services as needed.

 

 

III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree

 

WORK EXPERIENCE: At least 4 years direct experience obtaining permits, working effectively with high-level government officials.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CAPABILITIES:

 

Demonstrated knowledge of permit laws and operations related to a touring show.

 

Excellent customer services skills, accurate follow up and effective communication, both written and verbal.

 

Knowledge of various permit types, including: site contract, building standards, sound, food/health; fire;       pyrotechnics; water; animal; electrical zoning and special events.

 

Technological Proficiency, particularly with MS Office/Excel and Internet research
