POSITION TITLE: Director, Sales & Marketing
POSITION TYPE: Corporate
TRAVEL REQUIRED: ~25% as needed
POSITION LOCATION:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises Group Sales & Ticketing Staff, Creative Team, Field & Internal Marketing Team
REPORTS TO: Executive VP
POSITION OVERVIEW: The primary function of this role is to lead the marketing and sales initiatives and drive activities of the UniverSoul Circus organization. Drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive short and long-term marketing strategy that is designed to leverage multiple marketing channels and maximize sales results. Assertive and business-oriented, Director will supervise managers and employees in the Sales and Marketing Department and effectively apply prior knowledge of sales, entertainment/promotions, event/brand management to create and implement a strategy for this privately-held organization.
II. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Partner with senior management to develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans in alignment with corporate goals.
· Manage within budget, prepare periodic sales reports to illustrate volume, potential sales and areas of client-base expansion
· Conduct and review market analysis to determine customer insights, ticket pricing strategies and identify promotional opportunities in a given market. Develop promotional materials, collateral and evaluation criteria to assess effectiveness of sales programs
· Engage in maintaining and developing positive client relations, including: develop and deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with the Sales Team, meet key clients, negotiate and close deals as needed.
· Drive sales forecasting activities to set staff performance goals accordingly. Enable success of staff through appropriate training and performance evaluations and commissions/incentives
· Effectively liaise between marketing and sales departments, managing across related units to develop camaraderie, effectiveness and a high-performing team
III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year College or University with 6 years related experience and/or training.
WORK EXPERIENCE: 5 years related experience in creating, developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy which must have included use of social media Skilled in managing sales team. Entertainment industry or related organization experience a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CAPABILITIES:
· Skilled in leveraging technology, and applying “out-of-the-box” strategic thinking
· Detail-oriented with experience handling high volume, highly-visible projects
· Results-oriented with superior writer and verbal communication skills
· Strong persuasion skills, demonstrated effectiveness in managing team dynamics
